Who are your services for?

Our services are for the community as a whole but some are tailored for particular people or groups. Although we focus our work across Herefordshire, we work in Worcestershire and are looking for opportunities across the West Midlands and Wales.

Although there is no cut-off age, some specific programmes may have some age restrictions, so please check programme details under specific service headings.

Yes, we do provide projects that are suitable for people with special needs or learning difficulties.

What kind of services are you providing?

We provide a range of high-quality tailored services to enhance learning, cultural vibrancy and health, supporting our communities of all ages, across the arts, sports and though physical activity.

What kind of professional credentials qualify you to deliver these services?

The Brightstripe team have a wide range of qualifications, experience & expertise. Brightstripe is a registered Assessment Centre for Sports Leaders UK, a Nordic Walking UK Centre, a Trinity College’s Arts Award Centre and delivery centre for the National Youth Agency’s Employability Skills Programme. Three of our team are qualified assessors for the accredited Arts Award at Silver, Bronze, Discover and Explore levels, and another a Sports Leader. One of us is an expert for the EU panel for Culture and the Creative Industries and another a British Nordic Walking Instructor. A couple of us are also self-employed practitioners and consultants. All the professionals who deliver on Brightstripe’s behalf have the appropriate qualifications and are Instructors on REP (Register of Exercise Professionals), or are Arts Award Assessors or highly regarded educational professionals and teachers. Graduates or those commercially entering the creative industries may deliver for Brightstripe at a level with extra support and mentoring.

What’s your track record?

Across the team of 8, we have over 150 years of experience in planning, developing and delivering in the cultural sector. Our team has led the Hereford Contemporary Craft Fair for 22 years and h.Art for 14 years.

What safeguards do you have in place when you’re working with vulnerable people?

We ensure everyone who works with children and vulnerable people has been checked through the DBS national system (Disclosure Barring Service). We stringently adhere to current appropriate best safeguarding practice.

We advertise all our opportunities on our website, with our partners, on our social media (please follow us), through national and local press, magazines and fliers in noticeable places.

How much do they cost?

Some of our activities are free, some we have funding for and others we have access to resources, particularly for young people in sport. Please see more details under each service heading.

How do I pay you?

When booking, payment can be made by BACS wherever possible but for some projects/events/courses payment by cash will be required at the time. If you pay by cheque we ask for an additional £1 to cover bank processing charges.

Do I have to book in advance if I want to join in?

Not in every case but for some courses and classes you will need to book and if you are an exhibitor at one of our cultural events this is essential and an application will need to be submitted, usually between February and April.  For details please follow the link from our Homepage or contact Brightstripe on 01432 358232.
